New Zealand - Two Island Hires
New Zealand consists of two main islands - the North and the South.
The islands are seperated by 30 km of water, The Cook Strait.
Regular ferry services run between the islands from Wellington (North Island) and Picton (South Island).
Ferry crossings take about three hours and if you plan to tour around both islands this saves you the expense of taking the car on the ferry with you. Drop the car at one ferry terminal and we will provide another car at the other ferry terminal when you arrive.
Ferry timetables do vary throughout the year and are subject to change and booking availability.
Europcar has offices at the Interislander ferry terminals in Wellington and Picton.
To make the process easy & simple, you should book ahead on the ferries to make sure that during peak times you can still make your jounrey without delays. Bookigs are heavy so please book ahead. You can check the latest timetable for the Interislander by phone: 0800 802 802 or web: www.interislandline.co.nz or contact Bluebridge on phone: 0800 844 844 or web: www.straitshipping.co.nz
