Rent a van in France with Europcar

Need to cart some canoes across France? Take a treadmill to Toulouse? Move a mattress to Montpellier? When you need to get something bulky from A to B, look no further than Europcar van hire in France. Our fleet of vans will help you tackle anything – we have makes and models ranging from small sprinter vans to large moving trucks and everything in between.

Hiring a van is simple and convenient from one of our 382 rental stations across France, and our clear, honest pricing with no hidden charges means you can be confident you’re getting a great deal.

For total flexibility, you can hire a van for a few hours, a day, a week or even longer, plus you can drop off your rental van at a hire station to suit you – no need to make the return trip.

It all adds up to an easy and convenient service.

Browse our large selection of vans

You can trust us to make your rental experience simple and hassle-free. Our fleet ranges from compact vans to large trucks so you can choose the right vehicle for your load, whatever that may be.

For a compact load that just won’t quite fit in your average sized family car, the Renault Kangoo, or Citroen Berling will do the job nicely. Moving a bed or a wardrobe? Then the Peugeot Boxer or Mercedes Sprinter is the answer. When it’s a much bigger job, like moving house, you’ll be wanting the Iveco Daily.

And if a ute is what you’re looking for, we have those too – choose from the Nissan Navara with its handy twin cab or the Iveco Benne Double Cabin. The choice really is yours.

Van driving tips in France

Never driven a van in France before? Don’t worry, we’ve put together a few tips to help you on your way:

  • You must drive on the right hand side of the road.
  • Speed limits are: 50km/h in built-up areas, 80km/h outside built-up areas, 110km/h on urban motorways and dual carriageways separated by a central reservation, and 130km/h on motorways.
  • If you need to drive in or through a city it’s a good idea to avoid peak times when traffic will be at its busiest.
  • Plan your route in advance and make sure it doesn’t include any roads that are unsuitable for large vehicles.
  • Be aware of the height of the vehicle and check it will fit under any structures such as low bridges or car park entrances.
  • A large truck may need a bit more space for turning than you’re used to so be sure to allow for this when parking and manoeuvring.
  • Slow down, particularly in windy conditions.
  • Carrying a heavy load can affect braking and acceleration so make sure you allow for this.

It’s also useful to know that you can dial 112 from anywhere in Europe and an operator will connect you to an emergency service in the country you're visiting.

And that’s it – now you can be on your way. Bon voyage!
